Happy New Year!

In art, there are few things more symbolic of endless possibilities than a blank canvas.  With paint, brush, and the mind of the artist, a clean white slate becomes the medium to share what you think, see, and feel.  It’s fitting, then, to think of each new year as a blank canvas of opportunity where every one of us has a chance to start fresh, maybe try something new, and find ways to get more out of life each day.  Looking back at the canvas that has been painted in our first year of Kids Need More Art, I see so many wonderful stories of young artists and families finding a place where they can learn, create, and explore the wonderful world of the visual arts.  It’s exactly as I imagined when I first held the key to the new studio last January, and I am so grateful for each and every one of our artist friends for making this an amazing first year.

As we dive in to the New Year, we begin with an exciting new set of classes in our Winter Series #2 at both the Jupiter studio and the Pine Jog Environmental Education Center.   I am also pleased to introduce Mike Brown of Postcards from Jupiter who will be teaching photography in our Jupiter studio beginning with this series.  We are now offering a new School’s Out program of full day workshops on days when schools are closed for holidays and teacher work days.  Several dates have been added for both January and February.  In our popular Kids Art Express and Tiny Kids Need More Art: Mommy & Me classes, we will continue to offer young artists a great opportunity to work with a variety of artistic media each week to complete a masterpiece they can be proud of.

Finally, if you are an adult that has been watching our young artists and wishing you were a kid again to join in on the fun, we are happy to announce that we will be offering Big Kids Need More Art Adult Classes on select Thursdays beginning January 31st.  Grab some friends and plan to join us for an evening of creativity and fun in our beautiful Jupiter studio with our talented instructors to help you find your own inner artist.

Be sure to stay in touch with our website, subscribe to our newsletter, and find us on Facebook, Twitter, and now Pinterest to follow along as we begin to paint our art story for our second year.

Don’t forget to Capture the Creative Moment by uploading your photo and art story onto our GOTCHA! campaign for a chance to win gift certificates and art supplies in the new year.  It’s going to be a fabulously creative 2013!
