Kids Painting Studio Series
Young artists are invited to spend an afternoon catering to their creative side with our Kids Painting Studio. Each studio session will offer the opportunity to paint on canvas and explore a different subject to learn more about composition, lighting, perspective, and detail. Whether learning a new skill or refining technique, join us in the beautiful late afternoon setting of the Kids Need More Art studio space!

Trash to Treasures: Recycled Art
Every object an artist sees has the potential to be the next masterpiece, even if that object was discarded as trash. Young artists are challenged to use their imagination, creativity, and vision in making the ultimate mixed media masterpieces using everyday objects. Join us to paint, sculpt, and transform trash into treasured works of art.

It’s a Jungle Out There: Art About Animals
Join us on an art safari to see nature’s creatures in a whole new way! From patterns to colors and more, young artists will search for the elements of art that exist in the many interesting animals found in the jungle and beyond.

The Art of Sewing
Learn a lifetime skill while creating fun and useful decorative, artistic, and fashionable projects! Young artists will explore the art of sewing through hands on instruction that will introduce the sewing machine, while working on a variety of engaging projects that will help teach techniques and build skill level over the course of the class.

Introduction to Drawing
Drawing is one of the most common and accessible areas of the Visual Arts, and provides one of the greatest ways to express what we see and feel. Young artists are invited to join us to take the first step in learning the skills that will allow them to take their drawing to the next level and begin to discover line quality, composition, and value.

Observational Drawing/BAK Prep
We all see and experience the world differently, and the visual arts provides one of the greatest ways to express what we see and feel. As the first phase in the audition prep process, observational drawing gives young artists the chance to study an object and take the time to really see how it interacts with and changes with the environment around it. Emphasis on line quality, composition, and value will give students the skills they need to draw from life. Join us to slow down, sketch, and see the world through an artist’s eyes!

The Art of Manga I & II
Manga is the Japanese word for comics or printed cartoons. This class goes beyond the familiar characters with big, shiny eyes and funky hair and delves into the fantastical, whimsical styles of manga. Students will develop skills typical of realistic drawing (e.g. depicting light, shadow, coloring, line and tone quality, foreshortening, and perspective), but with a twist. Emphasis will be placed on character and concept development.

Digital Media
Exciting things happen when you blend technology with creativity! Young artists are invited to explore the world of technology through an artist’s eyes to discover why digital media is fast becoming a very popular genre in art. Let pixels power your imagination as we use digital tools to hone proportion and perspective skills, all while getting some hands on time with some fun and innovative technology.
